TODAY, I MEDITATE UPON…

THE WITNESS OF THE GREAT LENT

The Great Lent is a time when Christians show solidarity across the world (and across denominational lines) to show that we STILL BELIEVE: in prayer, in holiness, in ”being a separate and unique” people!

Denominational & sectarian squabbles pale in comparison to that show of unity.  Sectarian squabbles can be healed during The Great Lent, as the squabblers spend time in SELF-reflection, forgiveness, considering the Biblical principle of reciprocal forgiveness, they see the benefit to releasing their grievances.

Politically, the non-Christian world sees Christianity as “fractured”, divided by in-fighting.  The Great Lent is a global, interdenominational effort that brings Christians together, showing the world that we are not as divided as it may sometimes appear.
